Enfermedad viral que afecta a los perros, fue detectada por primera vez en los galgos de Estados Unidos en la década de los ochenta. Es curable si se detecta a tiempo, pero regularmente cuatro de cinco casos son fatales.
La masa muscular se descompone, causa insuficiencia renal, cansancio y vómitos posteriores a llagas cutáneas.
